GOSH! now available at Foschini Beauty

GOSH, one of my favourite cruelty-free brands, is now available at Foschini Beauty counters and their easy to use online store! I find GOSH hugely under-rated on the South African beauty scene. I’m always impressed by the quality, innovation and packaging for the cost. So I’m elated that I can now order my favourites from GOSH online with Foschini. The website is really easy to use- so easy that I just kept adding to my basket, with secure checkout options and a quick standard delivery time of 3-5 days. My package arrived within 3 working days and with cute wrapping which is such a nice touch- whether you spoil yourself or someone else!

For my first festive season look. I wanted something that’s quick and easy for when I make spontaneous plans (or I’m running late). I started with clean skin and no primer and blended a small amount of GOSH Foundation Plus+ with a damp beauty blender. A little goes a long way here!

Next, I used GOSH Prime ‘n’ Set – Banana to set the foundation- I applied quite a bit with a dry beauty blender to my under eye area and left it while I put on my eyeshadow. This banana powder is a miracle worker on dark under circles. Once you brush the excess powder away it corrects the dark tones and does the same for redness but be sure to blend it.

To finish off my skin, GOSH Lumi Drops add a summer glow. I used my finger to dot and dab this where I would put on blush because it’s quite pink on my very pale skin.

For the golden eyelids, I went monotonal and used the brightest gold in the GOSH 9 Shades Eyeshadow Palette, the shade right in the centre. I just used my ring finger, following the shape of my eyelid slightly above the crease. Do you know that the oils in your fingertips bring out the pigments of powder products more intensely? I did use a translucent powder on the brow bone and do a very slight blend with a brush but I wanted this a little messy and not precise. A lashing of mascara, some brow gel and the eyes are done.

The lip here is less defined. Using a dabbing motion to apply the lipstick from the tube, instead of the normal swipe then dabbed the colour slightly around the edges of the lip so it didn’t look ‘too done’.  This technique gives a less intense colour and texture.

This took less than 10 minutes in total and the simplicity is great for our hot summers in South Africa.

I wanted a more dramatic look for night time, using the same products. I started with the same technique for skin. As a side note I’m really impressed by the buildable coverage of the GOSH Foundation PLUS+ and it’s staying power. I like quite sheer coverage so my freckles show through but sometimes you need a little extra. What’s great is that the texture doesn’t change too much when you add more with this foundation. It doesn’t go very powdery or look oily.

The GOSH 9 Shade Eyeshadow Palette ended up being the star of the show here. I built this look on top of the previous, by layering the rose gold pink (directly above the gold on the palette) on top of the gold, following the same shape and blending. This gives a really warm tone. I took a little gold onto the inner lower lash line and a little rose gold onto the outer lower lash line and blended them into each other. The marsala eyeshadow (second row, on the right)was applied the two outer three-quarters of the lid. Lastly, the deep plum shade (top right) went onto the outer quarter of the lid, mimicking a cat eye shape. Then I blended from the inner corner out, in clockwise and anti-clockwise circles. Pro life tip, when you think you’re finished blending- keep going. Concealer, eyeshadow, smoothies- just keep going a bit longer. I finished this with a very fine liquid line, for definition on the upper lash line but not an obvious line- a few coats of mascara.

This time I put on the GOSH Velvet Touch Lipstick straight from the tube as you normally would. I’m a bit tired of Matte lip textures as the moment, so this slight gloss is a great change to the texture we’ve seen a lot of.
