It’s been a long time since I’ve posted anything and I’m truly sorry for the radio silence. To get into the swing of things I’m going to start with a quick beauty review. I spoke about 3ina (pronounced “Mina”) on the blog just after the brand launched in South Africa and I loved their colour cosmetics. I picked up four products, including their new metallic (!!!) lip colour recently, so let share the good news.
I realised that I may have a bit of a thing for metallic beauty looks when I realised that all three colour products I got from 3ina are metallic. I’m the most excited about 3ina’s Longwear Lipstick in 511, a rich burnished red shade which does as it promises. This liquid lip colour is super metallic and dries to a brilliant finish that got me compliments throughout the day. I first applied it at 9:00, then needed a touch up around 12:15 after breakfast, coffee and cake, and plenty of water. I touched it up again just after 16:00 and it only really came off around the middle of my mouth from eating and drinking- the pigment was still true to colour on application. And guys, I honestly think metallic lips will be replacing matte lips pretty soon. Get on that quick!
Next up is The Metallic Eyeshadow in 505, a very soft pink. I’ve often found that pink eyeshadows have a weaker colour on my skin than in the palette but again 3ina pigments are very strong. Even though it’s soft colour and I have pale skin, the pink was still popping. I’ve wanted to try The Highlighter since I first looked at 3ina and it doesn’t disappoint. While I’m no makeup artist, I’m pretty sure the gold shade, 201, is universally flattering and the texture blends very well into bare skin and layers of primer and foundation.
Lastly is some skin care for once all that makeup comes off. The Soothing and Nourishing Mask is a sheet mask with Manuka Honey and it’s paraben free- always a plus. It’s pretty easy and mess-free to apply, it stays on for twenty minutes and then you gently rub any excess product into the skin. And does it work? Hell yeah. There was quite a bit of excess product for me to massage in, so I’d say it’s ideal to put the mask on at least an hour before you go to bed so all that nourishing goodness can soak into your skin and doesn’t rub off on your pillow case.
